SESTRA MOJA
Meaning “My Sister” in Slovakian, Antonia Widdowson’s clothing line, Sestra Moja is a tribute to both those who work with her and her loyal customers. Having been born in Kezmarok, Slovakia to a pair of artistic parents, Antonia is now based in London where she cultivates her creative passion for design.
Although Antonia first began Sestra Moja by appropriating vintage pieces, she soon began designing her own clothes with the inspiration her vintage finds had brought her. Sestra Moja is the result of intricately designed lace and crochet pieces that, combined with chiffon and muslin are timeless, entirely feminine and innately elegant. Each design suggests a rugged, yet distinctive aesthetic that stands out and sets any woman who wears one apart in the crowd.
With a stall at Portobello Market she soon acquired a loyal and famous customer base, like J-Lo, Sadie Frost, Katie Melua, etc. Now Sestra Moja is being represented all over the world: UK, USA, Benelux, Hong Kong, Kuwait and Dubai and sold in the best boutiques: Despite her rapid success, Sestra Moja continues to be made in Antonia’s native Slovakia, by a team of seamstresses with whom she has a personal relationship with, as well as a passion for craftsmanship and detail.
